สาระสังเขป: Presents data on security force operations at muban, tambon, and amphoe levels. Lists places visited and key personnel contacted. Contains the trip narrative, dealing with transfer of Village Security Officer (VSO) supplies to provincial police, counterinsurgency courses, VSO monthly base pay, and attitudes toward defectors. Deals with time spent on controls, gun repairs, and VSO strength figures for Amphoes Pla Pak and Na Kae. Reports on terrorist activities and provincial police force in insurgent areas. Comments on the relationship between the Department of Local Administration and the police officials, the maintenance situation within the VSO, and waste of and destruction of ammunition and communication. Considers need for more careful selection, training, and paying procedures for villagers in the VSO activities.
